Brittany Murphy's cause of death has been determined: An accidental death caused by "community acquired pneumonia," iron deficiency anemia, and multiple drug intoxication. The ruling of L.A county coroner is that the death was accidental but could have been avoided. Murphy, who died suddenly at the age of 32, had pneumonia and was anemic but instead of getting a proper medical treatment she was taking medication.
