George Wassouf is a Syrian singer born on December 23, 1961. He moved with his family to Beirut when he was 15 years old, where he was granted Lebanese citizenship and was called the miraculous child at that time, for his artistic talent in singing. He started singing very young at the age of 10 in his hometown Kafroun on different occasions and when he moved to Lebanon his popularity grew. It was at the age of 16 when he became known as "Sultan El-Tarab" after singing the song "El Hawa Sultan". Some of the songs that increased his popularity were "Rohi ya Nesmah", "Helif el-Amar", and "Law Naweit". He has produced more than 30 albums and has performed concerts all around the world. Some of his best albums are: "El Hawa Sultan" 1984, "Kalam El Nas" 1994, "Irda Bil Naseeb" 1995, "Leil El Ashiqeen" 1996, "Tabeeb Garrah" 1999, "Inta Gherhom" 2002, "Salaf W Dein" 2003, "Etakhart Ktir" 2004, "Hiyya El Ayyam" 2006 and "Kalamak Ya Habibi" 2008. He also filmed many interesting video clips for some of his songs.
George Wassouf also got married at the age of 21 to Shalimar and they have 3 children: Wadee', Hatem, and George Jr.
