Ahmar Bel Khat Al Arid: Little People, Big World
“Little people, big world” an issue tackled by Malek Maktabi in the 6th episode of Ahmar Bel Khat Al Arid. The central question was whether dwarfism should be count as a disability. Most of the guests on the show appeared to have an optimistic view of life. Smiling and giggling all the time, the 9 years old Raya seemed indifferent about her weight (1 kilo); as for the 19 years old Radwan (11kg/80 cm), he is working on accomplishing his future plans and goals and he is looking forward to get married and have kids. It seemed that all the guests have found their own way to cope with their “different” situation. But the main problem that little persons have to face every day is the prejudice society. Most of the people react as if they saw a freak, forgetting that they are mocking and staring at God’s gift!
